The Minnesota Twins like their new digs, based on looking at their 6-3 record inside brand-new Target Field.
But the Twins played good baseball everywhere in April, and as a result the Twins find themselves on top of the AL Central standings in the first weekend of May.
Minnesota is 15-9 on the season, ½ game ahead of Detroit in the standings, even though the Twins have stumbled just a bit the past week, losing four out of their past six.
Still, it’s been a good start for the Twins in the first season of Target Field. Minnesota beat Boston 5-2 on April 12 in the first regular-season game at the new stadium, and a 6-3 homestand pushed the Twins’ mark to 11-5 on the season.
Two wins in a row at Kansas City gave Minnesota a 13-5 record. Then came the little skid to close the month, Minnesota winning at Cleveland 9-3 to close April at 15-8.
A 5-4 loss on Saturday brought Minnesota to 15-9. After the series finale at Cleveland on Sunday, the Twins open a nine-game homestand Monday against Detroit.
