Morneau placed on DL
The Minnesota Twins have placed first baseman Justin Morneau on the disabled list with a concussion.
Morneau said he is feeling significantly better over the last few days but that he tends to feel worse as the day progresses.
He is hoping he can start hitting soon, but said it’s hard to think about hitting a 90 MPH fastball right now.
The injury occurred when Morneau was accidentally kneed in the head while trying to break up a double play.
In what has suddenly become a very close American League Central race, the Twins can’t afford to be without their slugger for long.
